In favour of Dowry

Now days, after doing a job of 4 years and getting a good package, My parents are searching for match (obviously arrange!!). I have noticed girls and their parents generally make hue and cry against dowry.

But I don’t know I find such a good and rational thing. See, if the girl or their parents ask me and my parents respectively about my salary in hand(my package),the property my parents have, Doesn’t look it immoral or unethical or illegal.

Do you think that this it is their right concern for safe and secure future of their daughter?  In fact apart from behavior, looks, height and age, in fact out of these property and bank balance seems to most important criteria for selection of groom.

Why nobody says something about it???

Why no government makes a rule against it???

Why it is not immoral or unethical???

It should be banned and groom should be not be selected on the basis of their ancestral properties.

Since 1961, Anti dowry law is working in India while it is still there in our country on unaccepted note.

Have you ever pondered on this zillion dollar question (considering the population of India)?

 In contrast, child marriage act came in 1929 and now almost all part of India, it is successful. Why then dowry enjoy such a respectable stage in Indian society because of its inherent usability and advantages.

1.     If you are a boy, who is well educated and good looking too but son of poor parents who want to get rich instantly. You can marry a dull looking girl of a rich family (May be short height –can compromise till the time money compensate!!!!). Yes it’s a practical solution which can be done

2.    As we match education standard, physical beauty, cultural background for the couple then how we will match economic parity of the two families without introducing Monetary variable (DOWRY!!!).

3.    If you are in position of parents who have money and position but daughter is bad looking or some differently able (You know what I mean), they can have a nice match with the help of Dowry. So it’s a win win situation for both parties.

4.    Government of India also made a rule that girl should and would have right in the property or money of parents. Dowry is Indian way to accept this fact and in the form of dowry parents tries to give the due share of daughter. As in Indian traditional values girls do not have any share in ancestral properties after their marriage. And if daughters do no get dowry too, then what they will get????

5.     You cannot follow the western way to give property to girls also. As it will deteriorate and disturb the relation among bride siblings which is very common when the groom divide their ancestral property among his siblings.

Seriously, Dowry is necessary evil. This is why we are tolerating and those who deny these facts will also take dowry when situation arise. We should stop this dual behavior.
